DOH Bicol CHD in partnership with PHO Albay holds Violence and Injury Prevention Alliance Regional Launch

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development in partnership with the Provincial Health Office of Albay held the Violence and Injury Prevention Alliance Regional Launch last June 1, 2023 at the Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City. This aims to educate and reiterate to road users the importance of road safety to prevent more road morbidities and mortalities.
Bicol all set for Mass PhilPEN Risk Assessment Activity

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) in coordination with the Local Government Units (LGUs) and other health partners across the Bicol Region will conduct the first-ever Regional Community-Based House-to-House Mass PhilPEN Risk Assessment Campaign for 2023. This activity will be held for the whole month of March 2023 that aims to screen Bicolanos for possible risk factors of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes and hypertension.

Following the launch of Integrated Delivery of TB Services (iDOTS) Phase 2 on March 21, 2023 in Castilla, Sorsogon, the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) strongly promotes the continuous observance of World Tuberculosis Day. This is by urging Local Government Units (LGUs) and other health partners to strengthen the iDOTS Phase II implementation. Under the Programmatic Management of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT), the iDOTS Phase II aims to shift Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) services from PMDT Satellite Treatment Centers to the various Rural Health Units (RHUs) to improve the accessibility of TB services in the Bicol Region.
Bicol CHD raises awareness on hazards brought by improvised canons during holiday season

Based on the data of the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD), reported Fireworks Related Injuries (FWRI) in the Bicol Region reached a total of four (4) cases as of December 27, 2022. Two (2) cases were reported in Camarines Sur, one (1) from Camarines Norte, and one (1) from Albay. All cases were reported to be minors, with the youngest at seven years old and the oldest at fifteen years old.
