Revitalized COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign launched in Bicol

Press Release, July 26, 2022

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) held the regional launch for the revitalized government campaign for COVID-19 vaccination today, July 26, 2022 at Daraga North Central School in Daraga, Albay. The campaign, dubbed as “PINASLAKAS”, introduced the COVID-19 vaccination targets of the administration’s first 100 days.

The first 100 days of the Marcos Jr. administration aims to vaccinate 90% of senior citizens by October 8, 2022. Likewise, this aims to provide booster vaccination among 50% of the population. With this, the Department of Health (DOH) strategized to implement vaccination drives in most frequented areas such as malls, markets, terminals, plazas, places of worship, schools, and workplaces.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign requires a revitalized whole-of-systems, whole-of-government, and whole-of-society approach. Partner agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs) signed a pledge committing their continuous support for COVID-19 vaccination. Representatives from the regional offices of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Education (DepEd), the Philippine Information Agency, the Provincial Health Office of Albay, UNICEF, and Relief International attended the occasion. Mayor Carlwyn Baldo of the municipality of Daraga led the health team of the said LGU.

Through the revamped vaccination campaign for COVID-19, the Bicol CHD calls on the public to complete their primary doses and their boosters for them to be able to remove mask requirements, live and work free from worry of alert level restrictions, resume learning in schools and working more safely, and avoid the expense associated with COVID-19 hospitalization and its complications.
